The model creates a ground in the abstract, a few points which one can reach in the darkness. It helps us to articulate abstract ideas that would otherwise remain unreachable and hidden. The model lies between abstract conceptions and contingent realities. It is a testing ground, rather than a direct representation of reality, a bridge between theory and praxis, observation and insight, empirics and logics, sensory experience and abstract mathematical insight.
